Ridgefield (CT) High School graduate Lilia Harrington is the proud recipient of the 2015 Billy Feuss Memorial Scholarship, awarded in June by the Ridgefield Basketball Association. She is the first female recipient of this award. This award was established in 2013 to honor and celebrate the life of a young man who died all too soon, and to help the academic career of a RHS student who shares Billy’s love for recreational sports. The RBA awards annual college scholarships to students who have demonstrated strong leadership skills, academic achievement, and participations in their basketball community.

During her enrollment at RHS, Lilia participated in many community volunteer programs, including Best Buddies, Appalachian Service Project, and the Spence-Chapin adoption teen mentorship program. A long-time avid basketball fan, Lilia volunteered as a lead coach for the Ridgefield Basketball Association’s middle school girls’ team — an activity she loved and shared with her father. Lilia currently works at the The Prospector Theater in Ridgefield, and plans to major in event and sports management at Johnson & Wales University this fall.
